IBI Group’s TRANSIT-alerts System Provides Real-Time Updates to Denver, Colorado Passengers
IBI Group’s TRANSIT-alerts system was recently implemented by the Regional Transportation District (RTD) of Denver, Colorado to support the build-out of its new Rider Alert system. Acting on the feedback of over 1,500 local transit riders, the new system is designed to provide timely and accurate updates on detours, delays, stop closures and cancellations for bus and train services across the region, and to improve the user experience of RTD’s Trip Planner and Next Ride platforms.
The new system also makes it easier for RTD’s digital customer relations liaisons to share information with riders. Because of increased data integration, staff can instantly publish alerts and more quickly provide alternative route suggestions when necessary. IBI Group implemented the TRANSIT-alerts solution and assisted with its integration into existing RTD systems, enabling staff to publish alerts to the RTD website, developer feeds, and directly to riders via email and Twitter. “We have been working with RTD for a number of years to improve real-time information. It is very exciting to build on this work to streamline the alert creation workflow for RTD staff and improve the user experience for transit riders in Denver,” said Ritesh Warade, a Director at IBI Group who led this project.
Already in use in several cities including Boston, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, IBI’s TRANSIT-alerts system will enable riders in Denver to receive the information they need to navigate the city with ease.
